"An intense and superbly complex bouquet displaying lemon curd, beeswax and toasty characters. The palate is concentrated and intensely flavoured with crisp lemony acidity and fine texture. The finish is delicate and extremely long. The wine is still beautifully balanced and shows lovely freshness. A magnificent matured Riesling. At its best: now to 2012." |

"A wine of great character and tension, with mineral and citrus influences. Already delicious, a promising candidate for the cellar too.
A full, attractive medium gold.
A strongly varietal, kerosene touched nose with a suggestion of fruit toast retains a remarkably fresh, zesty citrus aspect.
An auspicious stoney minerality launches a wine of great tension and focus, vitalized with the bright, summery notes of lime and tangerine which play across the mid palate. Finishes long, firm and dry with resurgent mineral influence. Delicious now, and for a couple of years yet."

"Full-flavoured wine that’s ageing beautifully under a screwcap. Lovely fruit purity with an attractive mix of mineral, toast and citrus flavours (no suggestion of kerosene). Still fresh and appealing but with added complexity from bottle age."

"An elder statesman relative to it's present company. A toasty, honeyed nose led on to a balanced, seamless, complex palate, quite oily in texture. Three-year-old Riesling with a spring in its step and a few years left on the clock." |

"This is the Marlborough winery's flagship. Estate-grown at Conder's Bend, Renwick, the pale lemon/green 2004 vintage has a classic, rich, minerally bouquet. A classic dry style (5 grams/litre of residual sugar), but not at all austere, it possesses rich grapefruit and mineral flavours, poised and intense. It's a highly refined wine, already full of character, but likely to blossom with cellaring." |
